When I was studying NLP, one of the presuppositions is about respecting the other person’s model of the world. Ultimately, having complete respect whether you agree or not for that person and the world they see (yes – we all experience life differently).
The thing is – we all live on the same planet, but the human experience can be defined in so many different ways. It’s often difficult to accept that someone who appears similar to us, has such a different experience or perspective.
Especially now as a nomad, I meet so many people from all walks of life, many with hugely opposing views of the world – it can often seem like we were born on different planets. It’s difficult at first, but I’ve come to respect everyone and their unique experience of the world – even if it’s hugely different to mine.
