“Instead of wondering when our next vacation is we should set up a life we don’t need to escape from.” ~Seth Godin
If you’ve been following my journey you’ll know that recently I made the transition to experiment with life as a digital nomad. This isn’t the first bold move in my life, I’ve actually never really done anything the ‘normal’ way. It’s deeply engrained in my character and despite living a somewhat lonely life sometimes, it’s important for me to live a life of purpose and one which is rich, colourful & filled with growth.
It makes me sad to see so many people living lives dictated by their parents – if that’s you, perhaps you need to break free and live your own life?
You must remember two things;
1- So much has changed in the world since your parents were younger, their advice although always welcomed may not always be the best for you now.
2- Generally, most parents want you to be safe and secure. This is natural and therefore they’ll want you to live a steady life, without risk – this also means avoiding some of potentially the best things you could do with your time. It may also mean, avoiding creative fields because they are deemed to be less safe and secure than traditional jobs.
Away from your parents, education will teach you about the system and what to do which will lead to a safe life. The media will also tell you this too, as will most of your peers. It’ll tell you that buying things & money will make you happy, but you need to work hard – it’ll teach you that education is a safe route and that a yearly promotion at your city job will lead to your dreams.
Make your own choices in this world – don’t live a life of safety, of security or one that your peers approve of. Do something with meaning, with purpose, something which will make you feel alive.
I decided to help others embark on this journey, I would create a programme launching in January 2016. With influences from my studies in Psychology, Philosophy, Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) & Coaching. It’s a personal journey into a world of awakening, discovery & questioning. It’s the programme I couldn’t find or afford from my some of the people I admire in the personal development industry; Tony Robbins, Brendon Burchard, Oprah, etc. Although, I have tried many of their courses & watched their seminars they are often so generic. This programme is specifically crafted for people at their start of the journey – the ones who are searching for meaning, purpose & direction.
I’m so excited to release the programme into the world in January 2016. If you’d like to learn when it’s released, enter your email below and you’ll be first to experience.
